According to an analysis of the 2017 Fortune 500, 53% of corporates had experienced an after-tax profit decline, while only 47% saw profit growth. Marketing, once the driving force of America's consumer society, has been in retreat for over a decade.

Veena Sahajwalla, a materials scientist and engineer, is trying to revolutionise the science of recycling and unlock valuable resources in landfills. As the director of the Centre for Sustainable Materials Research and Technology (SMaRT) at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, she launched the world's first e-waste microfactory last year. She also presented the concept at the Falling Walls Conference in Berlin, Germany, recently.

It will have different compartments for storing, for instance, vegetable and meat, oil and water. There will be sensors that measure heat, temperature, consistency, etc. It also comes with a camera that takes a live feed of the food being cooked.
