Blog Sree Vijaykumar | From the Editor's Desk At a recent government-industry interaction, a senior party leader pondered about our work ethic as a nation. Why do we take so many holidays? What do we do on these holidays, he wondered. Why is it that in Japan, or even in the US, people work for the sake of work (almost a work is worship mentality), while we look for the first excuse to not work? While I think he was referring to the babu culture (not prevalent in much of the private sector), our famous jugaad mentality and pride in taking shortcuts is reflective of a similar psyche.
