BOL – Love Your Bhasha | Watch Industry Leaders speak about the explosion of Indian languages online.

BOL – Love Your Bhasha' – an initiative of Quint Hindi and Google India to help Indian languages gain the same prominence and popularity on the internet as English, was held on 18 September.

The day-long event witnessed guests such as Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, speak on the need for an inclusive digital space, using Indian languages for business and democratising the internet through tech policy.

At Quint Hindi and Google's 'BOL - Love Your Bhasha' event, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, speaking exclusively to The Quint's Editorial Director Sanjay Pugalia, said that the government's only job is to make policies and execute them and not to do business.

 
 
 

BOL - Love Your Bhasha | Videos to Popularise Other Languages on Web

In conversation with The Quint's founder Raghav Bahl at Quint Hindi and Google's BOL – Love Your Bhasha event, Google's vice president Rajan Anandan said, "The maximum possibility of growth on the internet for Hindi and other languages that India speaks is through videos."

An initiative by Quint Hindi and Google India, 'BOL: Love Your Bhasha' saw tech companies, content providers and publishers come together to discuss the future of regional languages on the Internet. They also discussed how can companies earn revenues in a digital setup.

Speaking about his own experience in the television industry, Bahl said that when TV first came to India, people thought that the content will comprise of only English and Hindi. But within ten years, the television scene was flooded with regional languages.
