Terraforming Mars would entail three major interlaced changes: building up the atmosphere, keeping it warm, and keeping the atmosphere from being lost to outer space. There are several proposed ideas to sublimate the carbon dioxide highly present in the Martian atmosphere and surface. This includes using orbital mirrors to sublimate the carbon dioxide ice sheet present near the poles, to create the greenhouse effect and heat up the planet or using spaceborne lasers to direct small comets into the Martian surface, which would do the same thing.
