TradeBriefs Editorial From the Editor's Desk

The irresistible attraction of passive income and the actual truth behind it - Sinem Gunel
Passive income, otherwise called recurring income, is highly desired nowadays.
While in earlier years passive income itself for private persons probably only seemed possible through investments, for example on the stock exchange, in 2019 you can easily build a passive income stream if you have a proper internet connection.
There is a worldwide rising community of aspiring people doing business from their laptops and living their lives on their own terms because -- well because they can.
And in fact, I would consider myself as one of those people who are dreaming of passive income streams and working on my laptop while being completely location independent.
Of course, the desire for a passive income stream might have many different backgrounds. While some might simply want to be independent and don't obey to the rules of a boss, others might be trying to build an additional income stream to support their families or to be able to save more.

Sugar production could fall
There are wide spread apprehensions that India's sugar production might fall in 2019-20 as farmers are struggling to plant cane, thanks to a drought like situation in two of the country's top sugar cane producing states. If it so happens, the drop in production would not only slash exports from the world's second-biggest sugar producer, it would also support global prices that have fallen nearly 15 per cent so far in 2018.

Marking the return of the Mohit Suri – Aditya Roy Kapur Jodi, we hear that a revenge thriller is being planned. Disha Patani, who gained fame with M S Dhoni and Baaghi 2, is expected to be playing the female lead. The duo is supposed to come together for the first time but details of their role are currently being kept under wraps. The film is expected to go on floors soon in Goa. Farah Khan is all set to launch former beauty queen Manushi Chillar in Bollywood

After launching actresses like Deepika Padukone, choreographer turned filmmaker Farah Khan is now on a hunt for another new face. And her hunt has ended on Manushi Chillar. The model, who is a doctor by profession, made India proud by winning the Miss World in 2017. And now it seems that she is also keen on entering the Bollywood industry. Well, it wouldn't be a surprise, considering that many beauty queens have chosen the Indian entertainment industry after their much successful win globally. Whether it is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan or Priyanka Chopra Jonas, we all know the kind of mark the two actresses have made in India and globally. It seems that Manushi Chillar is planning to join their league. Also it comes as a surprise to many since the former beauty queen has always maintained that she loves her profession – medicine. Coming to the film that will be her debut, sources claim that it will be a biopic. It will be an interesting venture for Farah who hasn't tapped into this genre before. However further details on the film is being kept under wraps, including the male lead of the film. A source close to the development said, "Farah Khan is quite impressed with Manushi Chillar and thinks that she should be venturing into Bollywood. She too has considered the offer. As for Farah, she is quite excited about tapping into this unexplored genre of biopic." An official announcement on this front is awaited.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali – T-Series to produce film featuring Mezan and Sharmin; to release in 2019

Last year we had reported that Sanjay Leela Bhansali would soon be launching Bela Sehgal's daughter Sharmin. Later we had also told you that joining Sharmin in the film would be none other than Jaaved Jaffrey's son Mezan. Well, now we hear that Sanjay Leela Bhansali and T-Series have joined hands to produce the film. Though details of the film are currently unknown, we hear that the untitled venture has already been shot. Commenting on the same a source close to the project adds, "Bhansali sir is keeping the card close to his chest and releasing very few details of the venture. But, yes Sanjay Leela Bhansali and T-Series are jointly producing this film." Interestingly, given Bhansali's flare for grandeur and the patent chartbusting music from T-Series, it will certainly be worth the wait to see what the final product this venture turns out to be. But if that wasn't all, the source also tells us that despite the title of the film currently being unknown the makers are planning on a release later this year. "The film is already shot, and most of the work on it has been done. So yes, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and T-Series are looking at releasing the film in the second half of 2019."
